The Evangelical-Augsburg cemetery in Gostynin - cemetery at ul. Targowa, probably founded at the beginning of the 19th century for evangelicals from Gostynin and neighboring villages (in the present Gostynin commune there are 11 villages inhabited or founded by Dutch and German settlers at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries). He gained significance after bringing German craftsmen to Gostynin in 1824 and after building a church in a nearby castle. The cemetery has an obelisk in honor of German soldiers who died on the fronts of World War I. Currently, the cemetery area is overgrown with trees and bushes, and the surrounding wall is almost completely destroyed. Survived several well-preserved tombstones (some of the nineteenth century). The remaining preserved graves are to a large extent destroyed or inscriptions unreadable on them. The obelisk is also seriously damaged. In 2002, a symbolic monument funded by the partner cities of Langenfeld and Gostynin was erected in the center of the cemetery. [source: Wikipedia, 1942557]
