Tyniec Cemetery - built in Krakow from November 27, 2014, a municipal cemetery located at the intersection of Podgórki Tynieckie and Wielogórska streets in the Dębniki district, touching the south-eastern border of the Tyniecki Forests, part of the Bielańsko-Tyniec Landscape Park. The construction of the cemetery in this area was planned from the 1970s, but the beginning of construction was moved in time. The depletion of burial places at municipal cemeteries within the boundaries of Krakow caused that after 2000 the design work on the necropolis and the first corpse incineration in the city began. The place chosen aroused protests by local residents, who pointed to the negative impact of the location, which will worsen living conditions and create a threat to the nearby Natura 2000 protected area. In mid-2014, Podgórki Tyniecki was built from scratch together with pavement and lighting, and equipment entered the planned investment site budowalny. The cemetery of Podgórki Tynieckie is to have a 9 ha area, where there will be a place for 9,000 burials. As the first incineration plant, its launch took place in March 2016.
