The cemetery was created due to the ending place in the cemetery at the church of St. Nicholas. The first burials in the cemetery were made on June 3, 1884. In 1936 a monument was erected devoted to legionaries who died in World War I. In 1945, the cemetery was bombed by a Soviet aircraft, many graves were destroyed and the cemetery cross was later rebuilt. In 1953, a fire broke out in the cemetery, which destroyed two greenhouses and gardens. [source: Wikipedia, 2486188]
