Description
The historic necropolis was founded in accordance with the precepts of the Austrian law in force at that time in 1786, on a hill, near one of the watercourses that later formed the Młynówka stream. It is located almost 500 meters east of the parish church. Used continuously for over 150 years, in which the last burials were made in 1948-1950, when the parish priest in Bączal Dolny was priest. Prelate Stanisław Czerniec. The building is devoid of fencing, it has a shape similar to a rectangle with an area of 0.9 ha. The western border of the cemetery plot is adjacent to the municipal road. The fragment of the cemetery hill was damaged due to landslides during the flood of June 2010. The cemetery houses many architecturally valuable objects and monuments of sepulchral art, ie: stone tombstones and graves with cast-iron crosses, including the oldest preserved from the mid-nineteenth century. The greenery of the cemetery is mainly native species, including: small-leaved lime, sessile oak, white horse-chestnut, common ash, as well as black locust and western arborvitae.
