Description
It is located in the western part of the city of Biecz, on the Horta hill. The cemetery was erected at the chapel from 1812, which is its main compositional element. It has the shape of a polygon with an area of 173 m. The cemetery is surrounded by a brick fence, there is a wooden cross with a semicircular roof. On the graves there are casts typical of Mayra designs, with crosses for a plaque at the crossroads of the arms. The cemetery is located in the landslide area and is now in a very bad condition - the northern part of the escarpment, along with the fragment of the cemetery, has slipped. 43 soldiers in 10 individual graves and 13 mass graves were buried in the cemetery Oktawian Duda Cemeteries of the First World War in Western Galicia 1914-1918 - Studies and materials, Center for the Protection of Historic Landscape, Warsaw 1995, pp. 174,175 : * 32 Austro-Hungarian soldiers * 10 German soldiers * 1 of undetermined army affiliation killed in 1914 and in May 1915 in the battles for Biecz.
