War Cemetery No. 126 - Florynka - historic cemetery from World War I located in the village of Florynka, in the Grybów commune, in the Nowy Sącz poviat, in the Lesser Poland voivodship, designed by Hans Mayr. One of over 400 Western-Galician war cemeteries built by the Cemetery Graves Division of the C. and K. Military Commanders in Krakow. It belongs to the III Cemetery District of Gorlice. Description
The cemetery is located in the center of Florynki on the eastern side of the GrybĂłw-Krynica road. The object has a rectangular shape with a flattened arch on the east side, with a fenced area of about 120 m. The cemetery is surrounded by a fence with concrete pillars connected with iron rails with a metal gate from the west. In the center of the building there is a stone column topped with a sculpture of falcon flying to the flight. On the pedestal, an inscription plate in German and Hungarian, and on its backbone a Latin cross. Two mass graves without tombstones in front of the monument. 94 soldiers in 2 mass graves were buried in the cemetery Oktawian Duda Cemeteries of the First World War in Western Galicia 1914-1918 - Studies and materials, Center for the Protection of the Historic Landscape, Warsaw 1995, pp. 179,448 : * 80 Austro-Hungarian soldiers * 14 Russian soldiers killed in 1914.
