War Cemetery No. 21 - Warzyce - historic cemetery from World War I, designed by Johann Jäger, located in the municipality of Jasło in the village of Warzyce. A total of 54 soldiers killed in the cemetery between 7 and 16 May 1915 are buried at the cemetery: * 9 Austrians from the following units: 27th Austro-Hungarian Infantry Regiment * 20 Russians from the following units: 241 Siedlecki Infantry Regiment, 242 Łukowski Infantry Regiment, 243 Chełmski Regiment Infantry, 244 Krasnystaw Infantry Regiment and 27th Vitebsk Infantry Regiment * 25 Germans from the following units: 1 Grenadier Regiment to them. heir to the throne (1 East Prussian), 3rd Grenadier Regiment to them. King Frederick Wilhelm II (2nd East Prussian), 4th Grenadier Regiment to them. King Fryderyk Wielki (3 Wschodniopruski) The object is located in the middle of the village, by the road to Lubli and is preserved in very good condition. It has the shape of a rectangle. The cemetery was partially reconstructed. New crosses were put in line with the original. The crosses have a unique character, they are made of two wood-carved swords. At the cemetery there is also a stone monument topped with a wooden cross. There is an inscription on the pedestal: WANDRER HEMME DEN SCHRITT SCHENKE MINUTEN DER ANDACHT HELDEN,: DIE FRIEDLICH HIER RUHN HELPEN DIE STARBEN FÜR DICH: Hans Hauptmann There were single graves and collective graves in the cemetery. Small wooden crosses were placed on individual graves, and larger graves on collective graves. Out of 54 buried soldiers, the identity of 35 is known. [source: Wikipedia, 1675036]
