War Cemetery No. 331- Podłęże - it was an Austrian war cemetery from the period of World War I, built by the War Cemetery Department of the C. and K. Military Command Office in Krakow in its district IX Bochnia. He was at today's ul. Sands in the center of the village of Podłęże in the Wieliczka poviat of the Małopolska province. A small necropolis was created at the Marian column from the beginning of the 19th century. Six Austro-Hungarian soldiers and one Russian soldier were buried there. The cemetery was designed by Franz Stark. In the 1930s, the cemetery was liquidated, the ashes of the fallen were exhumed and transferred to the military cemetery No. 327. A Marian monument remained, which the owner of the property enclosed, building four pillars and connecting them with the original chain from this cemetery. [source: Wikipedia, 3206264]
