War Cemetery No. 61 - Wirchne - a historic war cemetery from the First World War, located in the eastern part of Gładyszów in the Uście Gorlickie commune (Małopolskie voivodeship). Designed by Dušan Jurkovič. A plaque with an inscription by Hans Hauptmann was placed on a triangular stone monument. The inscription in the translation into Polish is:
That you would not feel sorry for being in the arms of death
Faithful Viennese heroes
Let these words be day after day
They proclaim the joyful news:
You have fallen, brave
For the holy land of the imperial city
Which life gave you.
She is not defaced by any foot of the enemy. "
194 Austro-Hungarian soldiers and 5 Russian soldiers who died in 1915 were buried here. [source: Wikipedia, 2398742]
