War Cemetery No. 72 - Oil - a cemetery from World War I, designed by Hans Mayr, located in the village of Ropa, in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in the Gorlice poviat, in the Ropa commune. One of over 400 Western-Galician war cemeteries built by the Cemetery Graves Division of the C. and K. Military Commanders in Krakow. It belongs to the III Cemetery District of Gorlice. Description

The facility is located in the parish cemetery. It covers an area of about 120 m. In 6 collective and 16 individual graves buried probably 37 soldiers killed in December 1914 and the first months of 1915, as well as those who died in the hospital, located in a nearby court: * 6 Russians * 31 Austrians from 2 IR, 4 IR, 10 IR, 28 IR, 34 IR, 35 IR, 56 IR, 30 LIR, 24 LIR and 13th Fortress Artillery and 2nd Regiment [source: Wikipedia, 2054909]
