Jewish cemetery in Biała Niżna - mass grave of about 360 Jews located in Biała Niżna in the Nowy Sącz poviat from the period of World War II. On August 20, 1942, the Germans liquidated the ghetto in Grybów, some Jews were resettled to the Nowy Sącz ghetto, and the elderly, sick, children and women were brought by trucks to the place of execution to Biała Niżna where they were shot in the back of the head. The bodies were placed in one mass grave, and the remaining prisoners were sent to the extermination camp in Bełżec. After the war, the place of execution in Biała Niżna was surrounded by a wall and a monument was erected informing about the Nazi's crimes. On August 21, 2016, a prayer was held at the cemetery for the deceased and the murdered, presided over by Rabbi Eliezer Gurary, and the representatives of the Grybów Jews descended. The cemetery is entered in the register of immovable monuments of the Małopolska province. [source: Wikipedia, 4085881]
