The fate of the cemetery
After the battle, the soldiers were buried in a collective grave near the SkwarczkĂłw statue and in graves in Lasocice (currently there is an obelisk). The cemetery was built by the Austrians in 1917 together with the Krasnych Lasocic community, which also participated in the construction costs. Most of the works on the construction of the cemetery and the exhumation of corpses were performed by Italian and Russian prisoners. The original cemetery looked different and was in a different place - in the place where the church is now. It had a surface of 3/4 morga. The body of one of the Austrian officers took his family and he buried in the cemetery in Tyrol. At that time, there was neither a church nor a parish in Krasny-Lasocice. The war cemetery became the nucleus for the creation of the parish, and a church was built in its place. The cemetery was moved a bit further to the edge of the parish cemetery . In 1971, the cemetery was renovated. Soldiers of the Austro-Hungarian, German and Russian troops who died in the surrounding fields during the Luckan-Limanow operations in late November and early December 1914 were buried in the cemetery. Altogether, 212 soldiers were buried, including: * 166 soldiers of the Austrian army * 4 soldiers of the army German * 42 soldiers of the Russian army 90 soldiers are known by name. Description of the cemetery
The present cemetery is located next to the parish cemetery in Krasnych-Lasocice. From the church located on the main road leading through Krasne Lasocice (the Kępanów - Jodłownik road leads to it a short access road . It was built on a rectangular plan. It is fenced with a contemporary rail fence made of metal flat bars hung on stone posts made of quarry. Entrance through a low, metal gate. The graves were arranged in rows. There are concrete steles with cast-iron crosses, typical of cemeteries designed by Gustav Ludwig. On these steles, Maltese cast-iron crosses were crowned with a laurel wreath and tin, oval plates with inscriptions. At one of the sides of the cemetery in one line there are 5 large, cast-iron crosses on a concrete pedestal. These are two Latin crosses of the Austrian type, one Latin cross of the German type and two crosses of the Lorraine (Russian). Between them there are similar but smaller crosses. In front of the gate there is an earth grave surrounded by a concrete bench. There is a plaque with the inscription on it: Military cemetery Date of fights between Polish and Russian soldiers of Austria (Tyroleans) November 27, 1914 - December 16, 1915 Let them rest in peace [source: Wikipedia, 2533101]
