War Cemetery No. 390 - Mogiła - an Austrian war cemetery from the First World War period, built by the War Cemetery Department of the C. and K. Military Commanders in Krakow and the 11th Krakow Fortress located in its district. It is a small accommodation in the eastern part of the parish cemetery in Mogiła, located on the Wanda estate in Nowa Huta. 71 Austrian soldiers were buried there with the 3rd, 6th, 14th, 24th and 25th infantry regiments, the 16th Honor infantry regiment, 6th Lancers Regiment, 12th Landwehr Land Rifle Field Regiment, 21st and 212th Landszturm Marshalsalons, 2nd and 79th Battleships of Landturm, 35th Heavy Field Artillery Regiment, 53rd Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Regiment of Landwehr Field Cannons. 23 soldiers died on September 14, 1914, and 48 soldiers were victims of an ammunition explosion, on August 2, 1917, in a nearby fort. The cemetery was designed by Hans Mayr. Only the central monument in the shape of a cross, covered with a roof made of red tile roof, has survived from the original design. The cemetery, when it was built, was fenced and on the corner posts there were sculptures of a soldier's cap located on the rim, a motif characteristic of this District. In the years 2013-2017, the cemetery was rebuilt. [source: Wikipedia, 2035280]
