Jewish cemetery in Skopań - was first mentioned in 1718 and served as a burial place for the Jewish community from nearby Baranów Sandomierski. It has an area of 2.7 ha. It was destroyed by the Germans during World War II. Only one gravestone has survived to our times, which was found in the 21st century in the city and moved to the cemetery. In 1945, in the area of the necropolis, on a mass grave, about 1000 people killed during the liquidation of the ghetto were placed a monument honoring the victims of the Holocaust. The cemetery also has a plaque commemorating about 60 people killed in the cemetery in two executions in 1941 and 1942. [source: Wikipedia, 1450208]
