War Cemetery No. 302 - Żegocina - a cemetery from World War I designed by Franz Stark, located in the village of Żegocina in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in the Bochnia poviat, in the commune of Żegocina. One of over 400 Western-Galician war cemeteries built by the Cemetery Graves Division of the C. and K. Military Commanders in Krakow. The cemetery is located in the parish cemetery in its central part, about 400 m from the church. It is preserved and maintained in very good condition. It covers an area of about 1950 m. In the central part of the cemetery there is a monument stylized to the altar topped with a cross with a roof. On the monument there is a plaque with an inscription in German: There are 109 single and 54 collective graves on it. They buried 276 soldiers who fell in 1914: * 102 Russians, among others from 50 Bialystok Infantry Regiment, 292 Malkarchanian Infantry Regiment, 296 Griazowiecki Infantry Regiment and 147th Infantry Regiment (147-) * 22 Austrians from 58 IR 83 IR, 295 IR, 18 LIR, 33 LIR, 35 LIR, KUKFJB 24, KUKFJB 29 , 11 HIR. * 152 Germans among others z 217, 218, 219 220 and the Prussian Reserve Infantry Regiment (Reserve Infanterie-Regiment (Preußische) No. 217, 218, 219 and 220) [source: Wikipedia, 2056982]
