War Cemetery No. 301 - Żegocina - cemetery from World War I designed by Franz Stark, located in the village of Żegocina in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in the Bochnia poviat, in the commune of Żegocina. One of over 400 Western-Galician war cemeteries built by the Cemetery Graves Division of the C. and K. Military Commanders in Krakow. The cemetery is located near the parish church of Preserved and is in very good condition. It covers an area of about 460 m. Separated from the church area is a stone wall. During the fighting in the neighboring church there was a field hospital. Most of the soldiers buried in the cemetery died in the hospital as a result of wounds. There are 7 single and 7 collective graves on it. 88 soldiers killed in 1914 were buried in them: * 9 Russians, among others from 292 Młyarchangelsk Pułk Piechoty, 296 Griazowiecki Pułk Piechoty and 147 Infantry Regiment (147-) * 11 Austrians from 24 IR, 25 IR, 29 IR, 33 IR, 39 IR, 6 Regiment of Austro-Hungarian Dragons, 8th Regiment of Dragon Austro Hungarian. * 68 Germans, including z 217, 218, 219 220 and the Prussian Reserve Infantry Regiment (Reserve Infanterie-Regiment (Preußische) No. 217, 218, 219 and 220), including: ** Jozua Garnap, Cpt. 9.12.1914 from PRIR 220 ** Hermann Martens, Cpt. 11/12/1914 with PRIR 217 ** Kaspar Dahm, see 14.12.1914 with PRIR 219 [source: Wikipedia, 2055738]
