History

The cemetery was founded in 1907 and was funded by the marriage of Józef and Józefa Wardecki. He was blessed in August this year by Bishop Kazimierz Ruszkiewicz. Both the founders and the fact of dedication are commemorated by the foundation cross with the inscription set on the main avenue. Along with the growing needs of the local community, it was subsequently enlarged in 1916, 1945 and 1951. The cemetery includes, among others, graves of the participants of the Warsaw Uprising - sixty soldiers of the Oaza battalion. Among the various forms of tombstones, there is a chapel-mausoleum of the family of Stanisław Chmielarz from 1927. The necropolis is still open. [source: Wikipedia, 1822803]
